The event was hosted by the DNC Environment and Climate Crisis Council which launched just over a year ago, and is working to help pass President Biden’s climate agenda and push Washington to take bold, ambitious action addressing the climate crisis and other environmental issues.
During the event, the speakers discussed the Biden Administration’s environmental policies and actions needed to address the climate crisis and environmental injustice urgently. They also addressed how more people can engage in the climate movement and help make big wins on climate possible.
“Events like last night are why we created this council,” said Michelle Deatrick, chair of the DNC Council on the Environment and Climate Crisis. “We have a real moment here. A moment to take meaningful action. To not only reverse the damage of the last Administration, but make real forward progress on climate and the environment. And that is what the Council is all about. We’re so thrilled and honored that each of these speakers joined us to highlight the opportunity in front of us to make a real impact on the climate crisis. The event once again showed the real desire out there for Washington to act, and act fast.”
