Climate Is On The Ballot. And Today Showed The Clear Choice Voters Have
Statement of Michelle Deatrick, Chair of the DNC Council on the Environment and Climate Crisis on Joe Biden’s climate speech:
“While Donald Trump spent his morning retweeting climate deniers, today Joe Biden showed the country what real leadership in tackling the climate crisis looks like.
“The West is on fire and the skies are orange. Yet another strong hurricane is barreling towards our shores. And Iowa is still digging out from under the damage of a devastating storm. The climate crisis is not coming, it’s here. And the contrast between the two candidates couldn’t be more stark.
“Donald Trump rejects science, facts and reason. His policies, actions and lies have made the climate crisis exponentially worse and reversed decades-worth of progress in protecting the environment.
“Joe Biden, as demonstrated today, is committed to tackling the urgent climate crisis and combatting its devastating impacts, beginning Day 1 of his presidency. He will lead the nation with solutions that tackle the climate crisis, counter environmental injustice and grow our economy, providing family-sustaining union jobs.
“Climate is on the ballot this election. And today could not have made the choice more clear.”
