DNC Council On Environment and Climate Crisis: It’s Time To Declare A National Climate Emergency
The DNC Council on the Environment and Climate Crisis is urging leaders to declare a national climate emergency to address the climate crisis.
Statement of Michelle Deatrick, Chair of the DNC Council on the Environment and Climate Crisis:
“The climate crisis is not coming, it is here now. And we need bold and urgent action to meet this moment.
“This Administration has already taken historic steps to address the climate crisis, including passing the largest ever investment in fighting the climate crisis. But the emergency is here now. We see it all around us and we simply do not have another moment to waste.
“It is time for the government to officially declare a national climate emergency and respond with even more urgency to this existential threat to our economy, our national security, our communities and our planet.”
