DNC Council on the Environment and Climate Crisis to Hold Panel at Netroots Nation on How Democrats Can Run On and Win On the Environment

Panel To Include DNC Environmental Council Chair Michelle Deatrick, Michigan Lt. Governor Garlin Gilchrist, Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky and
Greenpeace Executive Director Ebony Twilley Martin

This Saturday, July 15, the DNC Council on the Environment and Climate Crisis will hold a featured panel at the annual Netroots Nation conference in Chicago on how Democrats can run on and win on the environment.

The panel, which will focus on both national and state races, will be moderated by the chair of the DNC Council on the Environment and Climate Crisis, Michelle Deatrick, and feature Michigan Lt. Governor Garlin Gilchrist, Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky and Greenpeace executive director Ebony Twilley Martin.

“This panel could not be happening at a more urgent moment,” said Michelle Deatrick. “We’ve just experienced the hottest days on record, our cities are overcome by smoke from wildfires and states across the country are experiencing record flooding. In short, the climate crisis is not coming, it is here now. And this panel will focus on how Democrats can meet that challenge head on  — and run on and win on the environment.”
