Listening & Organizing Tour 2026: Chair Deatrick Heads to Florida
January 31 | 4pm - 5:30pm Gainesville: Good Green Trouble: Environmental Justice Townhall
Join the Duval Democratic Environmental Caucus of Florida and the Florida DECF Environmental Justice Coalition for a powerful Community Meet & Greet and Listening Tour focused on environmental justice in Duval County. Featuring Michelle Deatrick, DNC Climate Council Chair, this town hall creates space for residents to share lived experiences, concerns and solutions related to contaiminated lan, water, air, and environmental health disparities - especially in historically redlines and impacted communities such as Brentwood, Woodtgreaters and surrounding neighborhoods. February 1 | 1pm - 3pm Hybrid: Think Green / Vote Blue - Working to Elect Environmental Democrats
Chair Deatrick is delighted to be speaking alongside Florida Democratic Party Chair Nikki Fried, sharing remarks on climate and environmental issues as winning electoral strategies for 2026. The meeting is hosted by the Democratic Environmental Caucus of Florida and their terrific President Judy Freiberg.
The Chair will also be meeting with Young Democrats and other environmental leaders in Florida, and welcomes invitations for that timeframe from environmental, climate and youth leaders and organizations.

Chair Michelle Deatrick and Youth Engagement Director Paul Presendieu are delighted to take the listening tour to Wisconsin February 17-18. Chair Deatrick will be keynoting a panel on data centers; other events will be announced soon.

The DNC Council has launched our 2025-2026 Listening Tour with events in Minnesota, Georgia, and Oklahoma, with planned events in Louisiana and more. Listening to, understanding, amplifying and responding to the challenges, concerns and needs of Democratic state parties, Democratic youth and environmental organizations – and of our partner and ally organizations – across the country is crucial.
